FAQ

How Nock works

Nock is a SocialFi network on Robinhood Chain. Your identity and your posts live on chain, so you own them and can take them anywhere. This page explains what works today and what is on the way.

Getting started

How do I sign up?

Log in with X. An account and a wallet are created for you automatically, and your handle, name, and picture are taken from your X profile. You can change your handle during sign-up.

Is posting free?

Yes. Signing up and posting cost nothing. Nock covers the chain fees for social actions, so you never need to hold a balance just to use the app.

What is the wallet for?

It is your account on chain and, later, how you trade. Only you control it. Posting uses a separate signing key that can only sign messages, never move funds, so your wallet stays safe even while you post.

Using Nock

What are channels?

Open, permissionless communities. Any post tagged with a channel starts or joins one, with no registry and no gatekeeping. Browse them under Channels.

What are tickers and cashtags?

Mention a symbol like $TSLA in a post and it becomes a cashtag. Tickers collects the trending ones and each symbol has its own feed. On-chain swap arrives with a DEX integration.

How do rewards and points work?

Points come from real activity: posts and the engagement they earn from other people. The leaderboard ranks accounts by points. Swap volume, tickets held, and referral fee-share join the formula as those features ship.

How do referrals work?

Share your personal invite link. Anyone who joins through it is attributed to you, and when trading goes live you earn a share of the on-chain fees they generate, plus points toward your rewards.

Are messages private?

Direct messages work today between any two accounts. End-to-end encryption is a planned hardening step; until then, treat them as private-but-not-yet-encrypted.

What is next

What are keys and tickets?

A way to back a creator: buy their keys on a bonding curve and unlock a members-only room. This is in development and will appear on profiles and in your wallet.

What is Launch?

A fair-launch token launchpad: name a coin, add an image, and it deploys on a bonding curve with no presale and no team allocation. Coming soon.

Trust and safety

Is Nock decentralized?

Your identity is registered on chain and every post is a message you sign yourself, so you own your account and your content rather than renting them from a platform.

Can my posting key spend my funds?

No. The key kept in your browser can only sign social messages. Moving funds always requires your wallet, which the posting key cannot touch.
